Welcome to Shenu Volleyball!

Benishe Dillard-Roberts

Hello, my name is Benishe Dillard-Roberts, the Club Director for Shenu Volleyball. Thank you for visiting our site and spending some time with us.

At Shenu VBC we are committed to the overall development of our athletes. We encourage growth of the athlete as well as the social development of the individual. We teach the importance of being a team player, promote health, education, academic excellence and encourage community service.

We practice at a central location in lower Scottsdale (minutes from Scottsdale Rd & 202 and the Tempe Multi-Gen gym) and have athletes on our teams from many parts of the valley - Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Chandler, Phoenix, Ahwatukee, Paradise Valley, Gilbert - we are not far from you!

All I ask of my players is to work hard, be committed and become the best they can be.

Are you Shenu material?

Send me an email - I'd love to hear from you!

Are you Shenu Material?

Academics

You may say, "Am I really going to use this math 10 years from now?" Chances are - unless you are a NASA rocket scientist, TRIG may not be used on a daily basis. However - you need to do well in school to increase your opportunities for college, a successful life and rewarding career.

Are you keeping your grades up? Are you studying? Are you managing your time to do your homework, schoolwork and honor your volleyball commitment?

If you are SHENU material - the answer is YES!

Attitude
Your attitude and outlook on volleyball and life is a great barometer for success. The most successful people don't have the word "quit" in their vocabulary.

Are you not a whiner? Do you think of your team first? Do you try to get along with your teammates, coaches and chaperones? Are you trustworthy? Do you have a go-getter attitude? Are you willing to go the extra mile?

If you are SHENU material - the answer is YES!

Performance
Part of being successful is putting all of your hard work and dedication in action and achieving results. Whether you like it or not, you will be judged based on your performance and ability to deliver.

Are you working hard in practice? Are you leaving everything on the court? Are you willing to learn as much as you can to gain the advantage to help your team win? Do you do extra PT? Do you stay after practice or come early to get more reps? Do you have a goal in mind and work towards achieving it?

If you are SHENU material - the answer is YES!

Now let's get busy and do the work for a successful 2012 Club Season!

I look forward to hearing from you and welcome your emails at: Benishe@shenuvolleyball.com

Mission & Vision

Mission

Our mission is for young athletes, from diverse socio-economic communities, to be given opportunities to compete with successful outcomes through volleyball.

Vision

Fundamental to Shenu VBC is our concern for the socioeconomic diverse athletes, both individually and collectively.

We believe that we will enhance, inspire, improve and motivate young athletes through volleyball.

We believe that given equal opportunities and exposure to upper level training all athletes can be successful.

We believe that the active support of our communities will provide direction and resources for the athletes success.

We believe that the active support of our parents/guardians contribute to consistent positive performance.

We believe the lessons learned on the volleyball court are transferable to life challenges off the court.

We believe that all athletes given respect, shown encouraging attitudes and behaviors will reflect the same.

Shenu Philosophy

At Shenu VBC we are committed to the overall development of our athletes. We encourage growth of the athlete as well as the social development of the individual. We teach the importance of being a team player, promote health education, academic excellence and encourage community service.

We believe that these factors are the ingredients to a successful life. Winning is important as a team but that will not be the total focus of Shenu VBC. We believe in developing the individual player and ultimately this will benefit the team and the club.

It starts with fundamental skill training; spiking, serving and footwork. Come have fun, learn about being a team player and experience playing with athletes the same age from various schools.
